good read.

The Children of the Promise series. I don't know what to say about these books except they're great, and if you're into WWII and the 40's in general, you'll love them. But to be honest, anyone would love them. The story is incredible, and of course, it's a part love story. Go here for more information about the first book, Rumors of War.

Lookie, lookie, a follow-up series! For those of us who couldn't get enough of the Thomas family, Dean Hughes wrote five more books. Score. However, these ones are set in the 60's and 70's, and the main characters in the first series are now forty-something year old parents and their kids are now teenagers. I know a few adults thought these books were a bore, but I enjoy them. They center around four of the Thomas grandchildren and their growing-up years. These books definitely aren't quite as packed with information as the first series, but I still like them because they're about people my age. It's pretty neat to see how teenagers lived back then. Okay, that's probably enough. Go here for more information about the first book, The Writing on the Wall.

P.S. It's historical fiction, although most of the events really did happen. Just the family and some of the other characters aren't real.
