Please, do tell

I have been searching far and wide for one yard of this fabric. If anyone knows where I can find some (without having to pay a shipping fee) please fill me in. I loves it. Thank you.

YouTube on a Monday

This might become a regular occurrence. But let's just see how it goes today.

My awesome friend Mike pointed me in the direction of Pomplamoose, a duo who produces Video Songs. Every sound you hear, you also see.

Oh, and they sound awesome. Here's a song for each of you:

blessed shoes: Gap city flats.

I know they look weird and puffy and peculiar, but trust me, they rock. They're practically leather socks with padding. And get this: they fold in half!

"Tell me more!"

They come in about a zillion different colors including ballet pink, black, lasalle red, purple rain, and signal fire. And those are just the ones they sell online! There's even more in the stores. Beautiful, I know.

Oh. And guess what.

NIENIE OWNS A PAIR.

If you would like to check them out, go here. Don't buy them full price though, wait till you have a 40% off coupon or something. Then they're about $20.

everything you can't

You want some chicken salad? I made it with ham.

Yes, Maryn, I totally stole that off your Facebook page. Because I laughed really hard, and then tried to remember where it was from. And then I remembered.

Best Movie Ever.

Okay, not really. I mean, there's no British gents to swoon over. But there is Nick Zano--WAIT. Yes there is! Her imaginary friend is British.

Score one for the cheese. Now let's go watch.

i like him. he likes you.

Maryn, this is for you.

I tried to comment on your post today, but it wouldn't let me for some reason. So here it is:

Oh Maryn.... if you love British men, I have yet to get you started on the wonderful world of BBC and their super attractive gentlemen. ;)

And I'm glad the guy made your day! He was probably trying to flirt with you. But who wouldn't? You're super beautiful AND nice!

I'll add a blog list

but in the meantime, this blog will entertain you for hours. Or until the babies wake up.

Color Me Katie

I'm particularly fond of the Improv Everywhere events she documents, but everything is, well, colorful.

My on-the-go lifesaver

This is what I like. Lip gloss. I discovered a couple weeks ago that even on days when I feel the absolute frumpiest, lip gloss can work magic. This is the lip gloss I have--but I think it applies to any kind. So I've learned that sometimes all it takes is a little mascara, blush, and some lip gloss and I'm set. And I still feel cute. And I have shiny lips.
The only problem is Abby has noticed too and frequently asks for "lip gloss" in a somewhat British sounding accent.

perfect

raise your hand if you're surprised my first post is about books. yeah, didn't think so.

but did you know that my first post would be more about book design? or that i would eschew capital letters?

feast your eyes on these: the perfection of coralie bickford-smith's designs for penguin classics. and now you can buy them at your local bookstore. end of the pining (once i finally splurge).

Open-Air Kindergarten

Sam's future school located in Takarazuka, Japan, designed in 1992 by Katsuhiro Miyamoto.

oh glory!

Pretty sure an introduction to this blog isn't necessary, so I'm just going to plow right on through to my first item.

Bam! Glorious handmade ribbon earrings. Aren't they just beautiful? I'm fairly certain they'll become my new obsession. Plus they were modeled after these Anthropologie earrings:

Pretty wonderful if you ask me. Tutorial found here.
